Day 3 – Not much to report today

As I said yesterday I’ve cut my workload down a bit as I’ve got other commitments that I need to devote time to. So today all I’ve done is 5 articles and submitted them to Ezinearticles and I’ve created a Squidoo lens. I’m loving Squidoo, after reading a WSO on how to make $250 extra per week on top of my Bum Marketing efforts I’ve been building a few, and now have six quite highly ranked Squidoo lenses. I’m starting to get some traffic but no sales as yet. Even if I never get a sale from there though I can see their potential in gaining valuable traffic for free.

I heard of a site called www.gather.com which is being used by a few Bum Marketers. Anyone here heard of it or using it? I haven’t checked out whether or not you can post articles with affiliate links but I may take a look at it later. It’s got a Google Pr 6 which is the same as Goarticles.

Great Free Videos On Bum Marketing

If you’re a regular on the Warrior Forum you may already have come across this but if you’re not you might find this resource useful. A guy called Steven has created videos that are the exact steps he has personally used to create an average income of $2200/month since October (and increasing every week) in his spare time (10 hours per week) with virtually no up-front costs.

I’m back!

To everyone who has been keeping up with what little there is of my blog.

I apologise for not having posted sooner but was in a car accident just after starting my Bum Marketing experiment. Fortunately everyone involved was okay but I suffered from whiplash which meant that I spent a large part of the past week and a half lying in bed. However, I think I’m ready to get back on track now and although I’ve lost about 11 days I will start back here again tomorrow with Day 3 of my experiment. I’m extremely keen to get back into this as I really think Bum Marketing is the way forward for me.

I’ve made 3 more sales based on what I had done on Day 1 and Day 2 plus I’ve had my Ezinearticles published from those two days.

Again apologies, I know I’ve probably ended losing quite a few of my readership after not having posted and explaining my situation.

I’ve also changed my plan a bit, as with a full time job I don’t have the time I need to devote to the plan I had started with. It’s not quite as full on as before and means I can spend a bit more time with my family as well.

Here it is:

For every product I promote I will do:
2 ads to USFreeads
10 articles (5 to Goarticles/5 to Ezinearticles or Searchwarp)
1 ebay auction
1 product blog with adsense
1 Squidoo lens
A post to Craigslist

I think realistically it’ll take about a week to promote 1-2 products with quality articles/blog etc.

Day 2 – My First Sale!!

I just checked my Clickbank and found I had got my first sale on only my second day of Bum Marketing – $48.45! None of my articles have been accepted on Ezinearticles yet so it was from one of the two ads I put on Usfreeads yesterday. I checked my page views and only have 6 so far (I think 3 of those were my own) so that’s a pretty good conversion rate! I just checked the word count though and realised I had written about 1300 words of a review – no wonder it took me so long. Anyway I guess all that writing has paid off!

Day 1 – This is damned hard work!

So after a day’s work (in my normal job) and with a dose of flu starting to come on, I half heartedly settled down to write my 10 articles and 2 advertisements. I started with the 2 ads for Usfreeads. I think they’re pretty good (even if I do say so myself), however I spent about an hour and a half on them. I’ve GOT to get faster at this. Anyway, the articles – first one was the hardest (took me nearly an hour – with a bit of Warrior Forum in between), but after that I got into the swing of things and actually did the next 9 in about 2 hours. Took waaaaaayyyyyy longer than I’d anticipated but I do want what I’m putting out there to be good quality. So that’s all for today. Don’t know how long it will take for my articles to be submitted but hopefully once I get the Expert Author/Platinum Author status I’ve heard articles get accepted very quickly.

Oh, I forgot to say first thing I did today was buy a cloaked domain from Namestick. I’m using this with subdomains to cloak my affiliate links on Ezinearticles.  

My Bum Marketing Plan

I think I read somewhere that Travis claims you can be earning $1800 per month within 90 days. I’d be quite happy with that in addition to my wage packet, so that’s what I’m aiming for. That works out at about $60 per day which I think should be quite doable.

One of the recent WSO’s I bought claimed that following the techniques outlined you could actually go from $0 – $150 in less than 1 month! I’m sure it’s possible but I prefer to be realistic (I know my own limitations!) and as a complete beginner doing this part time I won’t be aiming quite that high. I can safely say it would be absolutely impossible for me (as a beginning article writer) to churn out about 50 articles per day.

 So starting tomorrow January 8th , my plan is as follows:

Monday to Friday

• Write 10 articles per day and submit 5 to Ezinearticles & 5 to Goarticles – 10 articles & 2 advertisements per product so I will focus on a different product each day.
• Write 2 advertisements per day for Usfreeads (I’m not totally convinced of their worth as I’ve used them before without much success but I’ll give it a go.)

Weekends

• Create WordPress blogs for each affilate product and write an article to promote the product
• Create Squidoo lenses for each affiliate product and write an article to promote the product
•  Create 5 info products based on the articles written during the week and list on Ebay (will elaborate further on this when I’m doing it next weekend)

I think that’s more than enough for me to get started. As the weeks go by I may add to this list or increase my articles count per day as I get faster at writing.

Just found a post from this guy who tried an idea out on Squidoo recently and made a sale pretty quickly from it. I’ve heard of a few other Bum Marketers utilizing Squidoo with some success so I may try it myself. It’s apparently pretty easy to set up a lens with an article/advertisement for your affiliate product.

3. I picked up a few good WSO’s (Warrior Special Offer’s) on the Warrior Forum recently. I think most of them are closed now but I have resale rights to a few of them so might offer them here at some stage. I definitely learnt a few new tricks from these that I will be putting into practice.
4. I’ve opened accounts at www.ezinearticles.com and www.goarticles.com. I’ve also opened a premium account at www.usfreeads.com as advised but haven’t had much success with previous advertisements so this won’t be my main target.
5. I won’t be investing in any keywords software just yet so will be relying on Overture, Good Keywords, and the Adwords Keyword Tool - (all free of course).
6. I’ve already got accounts with Clickbank, Commission Junction, PayDotCom, and Linkshare to find my affiliate products to promote.

Welcome To My Blog!

Hello and welcome to my blog. I’ve started this blog as a way of documenting my progress with the Bum Marketing Method which I will be starting in the next few days. I intended to start on January 1st but circumstances over the Christmas holidays meant that I didn’t get home to my own computer til the day before yesterday.

The main reason for my keeping this blog is to keep myself accountable. 2006 was my first year of dipping into internet marketing and due to ‘information overload’ and just taking on too much at once, I can’t say that I was very successful. This is my attempt at focussing on one thing for a few months and hopefully building up to about $150 per day. I am working full-time and am married with a three year old so my time to dedicate to this will be pretty limited (maybe 2 hours a day as I’m also involved in other projects).

I would love you’re feedback and comments as it would be great to see how others are progressing with the same thing and I’ll try to update my blog every 1-2 days with what I’m doing.
